Julia sighed happily as she walked along the beach of Cebu. She and her friends,
Jenn and Sofia took off from Boston to spend their semestral break traveling as
far from school as possible. She cant believe how stressing it was being a
freshman in college and the only was they could think of de-stressing themselves
is a vacation away from everything else. She tied her sarong around her slim
waist tighter and continued walking her way toward the huge rocks at the end of
the beach. She was strikingly pretty, with long shiny brown hair, beautiful soft
hazel eyes framed with lashed and cheeks that seem to wear a perpetual healthy
pink glow. When she smiles, the whole world seemed to light up around her. Julia
scanned the horizon. The sun was about to set turning the sky pink. She smiled
as she basked in the amazing scene before her. She walked some more and finally
reached the huge rocks at the end. She sat down by the sands watching the sun as
it sets.
Beautiful, isnt it? a voice from behind her said.
Julia looked around her and noticed a guy with dark hair sitting a few feet away
from her holding a book in one hand.
Yeah, its breathtaking, Julia replied smiling at the stranger, Cant
believe my friends are missing this.
The guy shook his head, Too bad, he said, Because this is by far the most
awesome sight Ive ever seen. I wish people would take their time to look around
them, you know? Nothing compares to the beauty of nature.
Julia nodded, I know what you mean, she agreed, thats when they say the
best things in life are free.
Exactly, the stranger grinned, Why are you in here for?
To escape the stress of college life, Julia replied, How about you?
Basically the same, the guy answered, To just kick back, relax and get away
from everything, he glanced at her, Seen any good movies lately?
Time machines pretty awesome, so is Lord of the Rings, Julia replied, Ive
read the trilogy. People say its always better in books but I think they did a
pretty good job. Elijah Woods incredible. So are the other actors. The
cinematography is the best Ive ever seen.
Really? the guy said sounding interested, How about Time Machine? he asked
as he stood up and walked towards Julia.
Time Machine makes you think. The idea behind it is profound if you really
think about it but simple enough for anybody to understand, Julia said not
taking her eyes off the horizon, I want to read the book but I think the film
gave justice to the authors objective.
The guy sat down beside her, What, in your opinion, is the idea behind it?
That technological advancement leads to ultimate destruction, Julia said
simply and glanced at him. Her heart dropped to her stomach. The guy looked
very, very familiar.
Thats really intense, he said smiling at her, By the way my names Elijah,
whats yours?
Julia, she said blushing.
Hi Julia, nice to meet you, Elijah Wood said shaking her now cold hand. She
stared at his amazing clear blue eyes and gave a weak smile.
So you think Im incredible, Elijah said grinning, Coming from a deep
thinker like you means so much to me. Thank you.
Thanks also for the compliment, Julia said relaxing a bit. She was in a beach
watching the sunset with Elijah Wood the Elijah Wood.. sitting right beside
her. It was totally unbelievable. If this was all a dream, waking up would be a
nightmare.
So what are you taking up? Elijah asked looking at her.
Im majoring in literature, Julia replied, I want to be a grade school
teacher someday. Theres nothing more fulfilling than teaching young minds to
appreciate the great works of Charles Dickens, Voltaire, Mark Twain and other
literature giants, she smiled, How about you? Hows it like to be an actor?
its great! I love acting, Elijah said, The only downside is it kinda robs
you of your privacy, you know? Go out with a girl a few times and youll see
your faces splashed in the newspapers the next day. Its frustrating! he said
with a slight frown.
Julia nodded, I understand, she said, once you become a celebrity, a public
figure, people scrutinize every part of your life. Its frustrating I can
imagine, but I guess thats the price you have to pay. You cant star in a
blockbuster film and expect your private life still intact. The best thing that
you can do is to accept it and deal with it because you can never take the
curiosity out of people. Its human nature.
Elijah stared at her, Youre right, he said, Never thought of it that way.
Youre an amazing thinker, he leaned closer, Listen, Id love to talk to you
some more if you dont mind. Whats your room number?
Two-oh-six, Julia breathed. She cant believe it. Elijah Wood wants to as her
out.

Lij! Lij! a female voice called out interrupting them. They both turned
around and saw a girl with long black hair wearing a sexy black two-piece suit
approaching them. She was beautiful with sharp features and a nice body.
There you are, the girl said smiling at Elijah sweetly. She bent down to give
him a long lingering kiss.
Julia looked down at the white sand for a moment, not knowing what to do. After
the girls done sucking his face she finally turned around to acknowledge
Julias presence.
Whos this sweetie?
Elijah looked embarrassed, Bianca, shes Julia. Julia this is Bianca. I met
Julia here on the beach.
Julia smiled at Bianca, hi, she said.
Bianca forced a smile at her and nodded.
Cmon honey, lets get going, she said pulling Elijah on his feet.
Bye Elijah, Julia whispered. Elijah looked at her as if to say something but
Bianca dragged him away. Julia sighed and looked down. A moment ago, Elijah was
just sitting beside me, she thought, now hes.. Julia frowned.
Whats this? she whispered. There were letters written on the sand.

A smile started to form on her lips. Could it be that Elijah left this message
for me? A shiver went up her spine. He must have left it when Bianca was kissing
him. She stood up and began making her way back to the Hotel not quite believing
what just happened. She cant wait to tell her friends about this. If they
believe me, she thought smiling ruefully.
Chapter II
Julia! Jenn said as Julia entered the room, Where on earth have you been?
Weve been looking everywhere for you!" she said struggling to put on a short
white dress that complimented her tan.
Zip me up please? Sofia asked turning her back at Julia, Where were you?
At the beach, Julia said smiling mysteriously.
What were you doing there? You shouldve been here an hour ago to get ready
for the party tonight, Jenn said putting her earrings on.
Julia smiled dreamily, I met someone.
Really? Jenn said with a smile, Thats what took you so long. So, who is
he?
Elijah, Julia said sitting on the couch.
Elijah? Sofia asked slicking on some lip gloss, From where is he?
Elijah Wood, Julia said her smile widening.
Elijah Wood? Julia repeated looking confused.
You mean Elijah the actor? Sofia asked looking at her friend through the
mirror. She turned around, The actor from Lord of the Rings?
Julia nodded, unable to contain her excitement, Yes! ElijahWood the actor with
the incredible blue eyes!
Sofia and Jenn looked at each other for a moment then burst into giggles.
Youre kidding us right? Sofia said in-between giggles.
Julia shook her head, her eyes sparkling.
Yeah right! Cmon Jules, stop playing around! Jenn said slathering on some
scented lotion.
Im not kidding! I was walking down the beach enjoying the view. I sat down
near the end and he started to talk to me. Didnt notice him there cuz the
sunset was amazing, you guys shouldve seen it! Anyway, he started to talk about
it then all of a sudden he sat down next to me and we had an amazing
conversation! Julia said grinning from ear to ear.
Jenn gave her friend a concerned look, Julia, the sun might be getting to you.
Will you please go take a shower and join us back to the real world.
Julia shook her head, laughing, You guys must think Im joking! I really am
not! She said, He even took our room number. He said he would love to see me
again!
Jules, will you stop it already? Sofia said a little exasperated.
Yeah, Julie quit it! Jenn said with a smile, Even if you did see him he
wouldnt hit on you. Hes seeing someone. An actress I think.
I saw her too, Julia confirmed, Bianca.
The doorbell rang.
That must be the extra bathrobe I ordered, Jenn said walking towards the
door, Ill go get it.
Bianca's pretty but not very friendly, Julia said.
Okay Julia, whatever you say! Sofia said rolling her eyes.
Jenn came back, her cheeks flushed. Jules, its Elijah. He wants to see you.
Sofia looked at them seriously, Okay guys, are you playing a trick on me? Cuz
if you are its not funny!
Julia stood up from the couch her hazel eyes widening. Do I look okay?
Jenn nodded, still reeling from the shock. Go! she said urgently.
Julia took a deep breath and walked towards the door.
Hi, Elijah greeted her with a smile. He looked really gorgeous. Did you
see my message?
Julia nodded, Yes I did.
Listen, Im sorry about what happened. I still would like to see you but I
have my hands full at the moment, he said with a slight frown, Can I come by
later to pick you up? Say around 11? If youre still awake.
Julia smiled, Yeah, sure Ill be here.
Great, Elijah said grinning, Ill see you later then.
Oh wait, Julia said suddenly, Ill introduce you to my friends, she turned
around, Jenn! Sofia! Come here please!
Jenn and Sofia emerged from the room.
Elijah, this is Jenn and Sofia my bestfriends, Julia said, Jenn, Sofia,
this is Elijah Wood.
Nice to meet you, Jenn said blushing.
Hi, Sofia croaked.
Elijah grinned, Hi! Nice to meet you guys!
Ill see you later Elijah. Take Care! Julia Said.
Elijah nodded, turned and walked away.
As they went inside the room, Jenn and Sofia looked at her expectantly.
Well? Sofia prodded.
Julia laughed, Now you guys wanted to know! she started to untie her sarong,
Im going to take a bath now, will meet you guys in half an hour. Promise,
Ill tell you about it later, she said with a wink.
Chapter III
A part of the beach was closed to give way to a very happening party. Music was
pumping, tables and chairs were everywhere, lanterns and colored lights were set
up creating a very festive mood. Julia craned her neck to scan the crowd for her
friends.
Julia! Sofia called waving her hand, Over here!
Julia smiled and went over to her friends table.
Hi guys! Julia said sitting down, Wow! Everything looks fantastic! she
said watching the people dancing in a makeshift dance floor.
Look whos here, Jenn said nodding towards the bar.
It was Elijah and Bianca sitting very close to each other.
Theyve been like that for the past half-hour, Jenn said, Biancas been
feeding him calamari like crazy.
Julia watched as Elijah took a puff from his cigarette, trying to create space
between him and Bianca.
Elijah looks really uncomfortable, Sofia observed, Biancas guarding him
like a hawk.
A plump woman approached the couple holding a pen and paper. She said something
then handed out the paper towards Elijah. Elijah smiled, took the paper and made
his mark. Bianca, looking peeved said something to the woman. The woman took the
pen and paper from Elijah, thanked him and walked off with a frown on her face.
Jenn sucked her teeth, Fourth fan of the night wearing that same expression on
their face," she shook her head, that girl has an attitude.
Sofia turned to Julia, So, whats the deal? she asked with a smile, You
guys going out tonight?
Julia nodded, Yeah, hell pick me up.
hope Biancas asleep by that time, Sofia said, I wonder if theyre sharing
a room?
Julia cringed, I dont want to know.
Bianca stood up, kissed Elijah on the forehead and left. Elijah took a puff from
his cigarette, turned and looked around.
He looks very adorable, Jenn commented nudging Julia with her elbow. Elijah
scanned the crowd, then, like magic, his eyes fell on Julia. For a moment they
just stared at each other like that. Julia, afraid to even breath, felt the
whole world fading away and all she can see was Elijahs handsome face. It was
like, the universe conspired to create this special moment. A smile started to
form on his lips.
A kid approached Elijah holding a pen and notebook. Elijah smiled at the kid,
tore out a piece of paper before signing the notebook. He scribbled something on
the paper, pointed at Julias table and whispered to the kid. Just then, Bianca
arrived putting her arm around Elijah, looking at the kid irritably.
The kid headed for Julias table.
This is from Mr. Frodo, he said handing the paper to Julia.
Julia blushed, Thanks, she said to the kid before he left. Her hands
trembling, she unfolded the paper and read his note.
You look beautiful. Cant wait to see you later. Lij
Her heart racing, she folded the paper and glanced at him. His back was facing
them and Bianca was all over him but Julia doesnt care. All she can think about
was their date tonight.
Omigod Julia! That is so sweet! Julia whispered, I cant believe it!
I cant believe it either! Julia smiled.

Julia left her friends at the party an hour ago. She was at their hotel room
pacing around. She glanced at the mirror and looked at her reflection nervously.
Shes wearing a short denim skirt, a red blouse and strappy sandals. Her long
brown hair is tied into a neat ponytail and she had pink lip gloss on which she
borrowed from Sofia. She glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It
read 10:55pm. She took a deep breath and started to pace around again. Suddenly
the doorbell rang. Julia, her heart beating rapidly in her chest, headed for the
door.
Hi Julia, Elijah said with a smile. He handed her a long-stemmed red rose. He
was wearing a whit button down shirt and a pair of jeans. Julia took the rose
smiling at him nervously.
Hey Elijah, she said, Thanks.
Are you ready to go? he asked.
Julia nodded. She closed the door behind her and started to walk with Elijah.
Where are we going? she asked.
Youll soon find out. Elijah said with a smile.

The sky was perfectly clear as they walked along the deserted beach. Julia
looked up admiring the stars shining above them. She smiled and glanced at
Elijah. He was looking at her smiling too.
What? his clear blue eyes shining.
Nothing, Julia said grinning, Im just having a great time walking with
you.
Me too, Elijah replied grinning back. They had their shoes taken off as they
walked along the shore. Julia realized that he was taking her right where they
met. As they arrived to the spot, there was a picnic blanket and a basket spread
right before them.
Here we are, Elijah said.
She sat down on the blanket while Elijah took out the contents from the basket.
You need help? she offered.
No thanks. I want to do this for you, he said as he took out a bottle of
white wine, a couple of paper cups, a plate of strawberries, melted chocolate, a
small basket of bread and an assortment of cheese.
Wow, Julia said, Everything looks great.
Here you go, Elijah said handing one of the paper cups which he filled with
the white wine.
Thanks! Julia said, This is so amazing!
Elijah smiled at her, Thanks, he took a drink from his cup, Im sorry about
earlier, Bianca can be a little mean sometimes, he said seriously.
Its okay, Julia said looking down, Is she your.. girlfriend?
No, Elijah said shaking his head, Im just going out with her. Its nothing
official. We were suppose to go here as a group with the rest of the hobbits,
he smiled, You know, Dom, Billy and Sean. They all backed out the last minute.
Bianca refused to cancel it thats why Im here. He took a strawberry, dipped
it in the melted chocolate and took a bite.
Its kinda frustrating with Bianca, he started to say, She knows were just
dating but she acts as if were married or something. I hate the way she treats
my fans. Ive talked to her about it but shes just hard-headed, he shook his
head, I really need space from her. She demands commitment but how can I
commit myself to someone as self-centered as her?"
Julia took a sip from her cup, thinking.
Well to me everythings all up to you, she said, If you want to break up
with her then do so, but if you know deep inside that you do like her and you
know that something good will come out of your relationship with her then stay.
Elijah nodded, I know. Im just confused at the moment, he turned to her,
How about you? Are you dating someone?
Julia shook her head, No, not at the moment. Ive dated a few times before but
nothing came out of it.
Elijah smiled, Oh yeah? Tell me, how do you know if hes the one?
Julia cocked her head to one side, Hmmm interesting question, she said,
How do I know if hes the one? Well, let me put it in your perspective. When you
look at her all you can think about is how much youd like to kiss her, she
grinned, Her very sight makes you happy, thoughts of her keeps springing in
your mind and everytime this happens you cant help but smile. It feels silly to
smile alone but thats what love does. It makes you do silly and crazy things.
When youre with her, you see yourself in this seemingly unreachable euphoric
stage. Shes your natural high.
Elijah smiled at her, Wow, thats incredible, he shook his head, Youre
really an amazing person, Julia.
Julia blushed looking down. They were quite for a moment, enjoying the peaceful
sight of the calm waters glistening under the moonlight.
So, tell me, what do you love to do? Elijah asked.
Julia smiled, I love to write! Its my passion. Im addicted to it like
crazy.
Really? Elijah asked smiling back, Writing as in poetry?
Mostly fictional stories with characters, she replied.
Thats cool. I love writing too. My sister writes poetry, Elijah said
re-filling her cup, I write but not as good as you I bet.
Well, for me, nobodys more superior or less superior in writing. Its the
thought behind those words thats far more important, Julia said, And the way
you express those ideas into words. In acting, well thats a different arena,
she leaned closer and smiled, How about some tips?
Elijah blushed, Well, acting is acting, theres no other words to describe it.
You just have to put yourself in the characters shoes and express the emotions
laid out for you the best you can.
They looked at each other for a moment, their faces really close. Julias heart
was beating faster.
How about books? she whispered nervously and slowly pulled away.
Elijah drank some more and refilled his glass.
Books, well Im reading one right now, he smiled at her, Whats the best
book youve read so far?
The Alchemist, Pablo Coehlo, Julia said without hesitation, Its incredible.
You should read it. The book is all about a mans journey to find this hidden
treasure. Theyve got all sorts of crazy characters in it like a king, a
glassmaker and a fortuneteller. Its about daring to dream and not being able to
go after it no matter how crazy it may seem, she winked at him, As they say,
we are not given a dream if we are not given the power to make it come true.
Elijah just stared at her. Julia smiled and looked up towards the sky.
Look up Elijah, the stars are beautiful, Julia said, Wow! Looking at them
makes you wonder how big the universe is.
Big enough that it is inconceivable, Elijah said, Its so vast that its
unimaginable. Kinda makes you feel small and insignificant.
Yeah. I know what you mean. But no matter how insignificant it makes you feel,
the fact that you are part of this whole thing, this whole universe, makes you
important, Julia sighed, Its a miracle being alive, living a name and making
your mark in this world.
Elijah cant stop smiling, Youre an amazing girl. Ive never quite met anyone
like you, he looked up, Hey! A shooting star! Make a wish.
Julia watched the shooting star for a brief moment, closed her eyes and made her
wish. She wished this night would never end.

Sorry for keeping you up this late, Elijah said as they walked towards Julias
room. It was 3:30 in the morning.
Julia smiled, No need to apologize, I had a great time.
Me too, Elijah said. They stopped in front of Julias room, Id like to see
you again if its okay.
Julia couldnt believe it. Sure, she breathed. She could feel the tension in
the air. It was a delicious, tingly feeling bouncing between them, the moment
was unbelievable. It was as if taken from a movie, only there were no scripts,
no acting. You wouldnt know what to expect next. It was so real. So TRUE.
Ill call you, Elijah whispered. He took her trembling hand. He started to
lean closer.. and closer.
This is it. Julia closed her eyes.
Sir?
They broke off, embarrassed. It was the bellboy looking equally embarrassed.
Im sorry to interrupt but a certain Miss Bianca's been looking for you
everywhere, sir, he said timidly.
Thank you, Elijah said, frowning. The bellboy ambled away, leaving the two
alone.
Elijah shook his head. He looked at her and gave her a small smile.
Julia, Ill call you later. I have to take care of something.
Julia nodded, Okay, she whispered and watched Elijah as he walked away.
Chapter IV
Julia opened her eyes and glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. She
stretched lazily and smiled as she remembered her date with Elijah last night.
They had a wonderful time just talking underneath the stars for hours. She
wondered if theyre going to see each other today.
Good morning sleepyhead! Jenn greeted her.
Sofia emerged from the bathroom, She finally woke up! she sat down on the bed
beside Julia, brushing her long blonde hair, So, tell us, how did it go?
Julia smiled, Perfect! It went perfectly! I couldnt ask for anything more!
So, Jenn smiled mischievously, Did you two share a goodnight kiss?
Julia shook her head, Got interrupted by the bellboy. Said Biancas been
looking all over for him.
Got interrupted? Jenn repeated, grinning, So you guys were about to? Omigosh!
This is so fantastic!
Guys, youre totally forgetting about one important detail, Julia said,
Bianca.
Bianca, Shmanca.. Sofia waved her hand dismissively, The important thing is
youre happy. Look at you! I havent seen you this happy before.
Julia smiled.
You look more beautiful as ever, Sofia said, Now get up, take a shower and
get dressed. Were about to raid the buffet. Im starving!
I heard the foods incredible, Jenn added.
You guys go ahead, Julia offered, Ill follow you in a while.
Okay, Sofia said taking her purse form the vanity table, Well see you
later.

The first person Julia noticed as soon as she entered the hotel restaurant was
Elijah Wood, having a cigarette by the bar. He had his sunglasses on but Julia
could recognize the contours of his face and his dark wavy hair. She made a
brave decision to go and say hi to him. She took a deep breath and approached
him.
Hey, she said tapping her arm.
Elijah took off his shades, his face brightening up.
Julia, he said smiling at her, Did you sleep well?
Julia nodded, smiling back, yeah, I
Honey, I got you your favorite, Bianca handed Elijah a plateful of food,
Here. I want you to eat everything I got for you.
Julia stepped back, not knowing what to do. Bianca looked at her, her face
darkening.
Ill.. Ill get your autograph later, she stammered, slowly walking away. Im
such an idiot! She thought to herself, I shouldve known she was there. She felt
like conking herself.
She felt someone grab her arm.
Hey Julia, were right here, Jenn said.
You guys! Julia sat down beside Jenn, Thank God you saw me. I was about to go
back to the hotel room to plan my suicide.
Why? Whats the matter? Sofia asked.
God! Im so stupid! I went up to Elijah to say hi to him just now. Bianca
showed up. She looked positively murderous, Julia said, She gave me this look
as if she knows whats going on between me and Elijah. What am I going to do?
Relax, Jenn said, taking a sip from her coffee, If anything, you looked like
a deranged fan trying to hit on him.
Yeah, dont take Biancas expression seriously. Shes like that to anybody who
comes in contact with Elijah, Sofia added, Dont worry about it.
Julia relaxed a bit. That makes sense, she thought. She glanced over at Elijah
and Bianca. Biancas feeding him small chunks of watermelon. Julia sighed. She
hoped that she didnt get Elijah or herself in trouble.

Julia shifted in her reclining chair, trying to get a more comfortable spot.
She had her favorite bikini on and her sunglasses. She closed her eyes and was
listening to the waters as it splashed happily along the shores. Her thoughts
drifted to Elijah. She smiled to herself everytime she remembers his handsome
face.
She felt someone blocking the rays of the sun. She opened her eyes and saw a
silhouette of a woman with long hair standing right in front of her.
Excuse me miss, she started to say.
Oh, Im sorry, am I blocking your rays? the woman said. She sat down on the
reclining chair next to Julia.
Pardon me for being rude, Im Bianca, the woman said extending her hand at
Julia, You are?
Julia felt her heart lurch.
Julia, she managed to say, shaking Biancas hand.
Julia, Bianca repeated, smiling. She started to put suntan on her slim arms,
I believe Ive seen you already, twice, talking to my boyfriend, she leaned a
little closer, Now, I dont know who the hell you are but if youre smart
enough, youll stay away from Elijah, her expression turned deadly serious, I
dont know what youre trying to prove here, Julia, but if you think youre one
crazy fan trying to get attention from my boyfriend Ill have you know that Im
much crazier than you. You dont want to mess with crazy people, do you? she
smiled sweetly, Stay away Julia, if you know whats good for you. She stood
up and walked away.
Julia felt her heart pounding in her chest. She couldnt breath. She stood up
and made her way towards the entrance of the hotel.
Hey Jules! Where are you going? I got you your drink. Sofia called out holding
two glasses of iced tea.
Sofia! Jenn! Ive got to talk to you guys, she said frantically. She found a
secluded spot at the entrance of the hotel. Its Bianca. She talked to me,
she said in a low voice.
What? Jenn asked.
Julia told her friends about the confrontation she had with Bianca.
Sofia shook her head, That bitch! she said angrily, She has no right to
threaten you that way!
Julia looked at them solemnly. Maybe she has. I mean I am going out with her
date.
True, but its not like you begged him to go out with you. Hes the one whos
making the move, Julia. Jenn said, But I think Biancas bark is worse that
her bite. Shes a typical bitchy little princess who wants things her way all
the time.
Yeah, I think so too. Dont worry about it too much, Sofia said, Were
right here Julia. We wont let anything happen to you.
Julia gave her friends a hug. Thank you guys.
Sofia smiled, hey, no problem. So, do you want to go back out there?
Julia shook her head. I think Ill go up to our room for a while and maybe
take a nap.
Okay, well see you later, Jenn said.
Take care, Julia said. She turned and headed for the elevator still reeling
from their confrontation. She knew it. She knew Biancas sensing something
between her and Elijah. Why did I get myself into this, she thought. She heard
someone calling her name. She turned to look. It was Elijah smiling at her.
Hey Julia! he said, Wait up! Where are you going?
Julia, her face ashen, turned around and hurried away. She took the stairs,
tears streaking her lovely face. She finally arrived at the room, thought
clouding her head. She threw herself at the bed and started crying. She felt so
confused.
Julia? Elijah entered the room and closed the door behind him.
Lij, please go away! Julia cried burying her face into the soft pillows.
Julia, please tell me whats going on? Elijah asked with a concerned look on
his face. What happened?
Julia couldnt stop crying. Elijah took a white blanket and wrapped it around
her. He held her in his arms.
Please dont cry Julia, dont cry, Elijah whispered.
Am I such a bad person? Julia wanted to know, Did I force you into anything?

Julia reluctantly turned to look at Elijah. His clear blue eyes stared right
into hers, probing deep into her soul.
Julia, youre the best thing that ever happened to me. The first time I saw you
I knew right away that youre special. he said, The day that you were walking
on the beach there was something that I saw in you that really got me. Sure,
youre hella beautiful, he smiled, But theres something inside you that kinda
shines out. When I got to know you thats when I realized that it was because of
your wisdom, your passion for life and your gift for seeing the world in a
different perspective.
Elijah.. Julia said softly.
I cant stop thinking about you, Julia. The moments that we spent with each
other means so much to me. Everytime I see you I feel so happy. You never fail
to take my breath away, he pulled her closer, I know its crazy, but I think
Im in love with you, Julia, he whispered, I dont want to loose you. Its

Elijah, Julia said her eyes shining, Im in love with you too.
Elijah held her face and slowly leaned towards her. Finally, the moment Julia
never thought would happen in her wildest dream. Elijah Wood was kissing her
ever so gently. She ran her hand through his dark curls and returned his kisses
passionately.

The doorbell rang at 4 in the morning.
Damn it! If thats some crazy bellboy ringing the wrong room Im going to pound
him to the ground! Sofia said grumpily, pulling the blanket over her face. The
doorbell rang again.
Ill get it, Julia said sleepily. She got up and put on her bathrobe. She
opened the door and saw Elijah Wood standing before her wearing a black pullover
sweater, jeans and boots.
Lij? Julia said with a puzzled look.
Sorry to wake you up, Elijah said urgently, I need to talk to you. He
pulled her to the adjacent room which was empty.
Peter Jackson called, he said referring to the director of Lord of the Rings,
He called for an emergency meeting. He needs to see the cast pronto.
Julia stared at him hoping that he was just joking. She knew that the day will
come that they will have to go their separate ways. She never thought it was
this soon. She doesnt even know what will happen to them afterwards. She was
afraid to ask. She blinked back the tears that were forming at the corner of her
eyes. She swallowed hard and tried to stay cool and collected.
Elijah looked at her, Listen, Julia, you have to trust me on this, he said
gently touching her face, I dont know when or how but Ill pull through for
you. I promise.
Elijah, Julia said, a tear running down her cheek.
Julia, listen to me, Elijah whispered looking at softly, Youre the most
wonderful thing that ever happened to me. Always remember that. I will never
forget you.
He bent down and gave her a long, sweet kiss. Julia kissed back hoping that time
would stand still and let them have this moment for as long as they can. Elijah
wrapped her in an embrace.
Ill miss you, he said, But I know well see each other again.
He took something from his back pocket. It was a book.
Remember the day that we met on the beach? I was reading a book, Elijah said
and handed the book to her. Julia took it with a puzzled look. She read the
title her hazel eyes widening. Time Machine by H. G. Wells.
You told me youve been wanting to read this, Elijah said smiling at her,
Imagine how surprised I was when you said that. I guess it was a sign. He took
of his golden ring, took her hand and gave it to her.
My promise, he said looking at her solemnly.
Julia pulled him closer to her and started kissing him. She was afraid to let
him go, scared that she might never see him again. But knowing that she already
had fallen for him, the situation left her no choice. If they were meant to be
together, no matter how tough the situation is, love will find the way.
Chapter V
Two months later, Julia stared at the TV back in her dorm room. School has
started and everything was back to normal. Sometimes she couldnt believe what
happened during her summer break that she had to constantly look at the ring
that he gave her. It was a reminder of his promise.. two months ago. It was a
pretty long time especially when they have no communication whatsoever. She was
starting to feel like it was all a dream. A week after the trip, news broke out
that Elijah and Bianca allegedly broke up. The reason was unresolved
differences. Julia sighed and fingered the ring which was dangling on a lovely
golden chain around her neck.
Hey Jules, its Elijah! Jenn said pointing at the TV. Julia perked up and
watched Elijahs images on the screen. He was promoting his new movie, Try
Seventeen.
He looks really good, Jenn said glancing at Julia, gauging her reaction.
Julia sighed once again and headed for her room. The doorbell rang.
It must be Sofia with the pizza, Jenn called out, Ill get it!
No, Ill get it, Julia offered, Im closer to the door.
Sofia, Julia said as she opened the door, Jenns waiting
Hi Julia.
Elijah? Julia couldnt believe her eyes.
Its me, Elijah said, his blue eyes shining, God! You look so good. He
handed her a bouquet of flowers.
I cant believe this, Julia said staring at him not knowing what to do. She
dreamt oft his moment. Several times she tried to act out in her head her
different reactions and what to say to him. Right now she was totally
speechless.
I told you Ill pull through, Elijah whispered pulling her close, Im sorry
it took me long. God, I cant stop thinking about you! You have no idea how much
Ive been looking forward to this moment.
Julia melted into his arms, savoring every sweet moment.
I cant stop thinking about you too. I miss you Lij, she said, I so happy
to see you right now.
Im glad I found you, Elijah said, I love you Julia.
I love you too, Julia whispered back.
Elijah gently held her face, pulled her closer and kissed her. Julia wrapped her
arms around him, her heart beating faster, every sensation heightening. For a
moment she felt the whole world stop, lifting them both into a whole new
dimension she has never felt before. And this is when she realized, this much is
TRUE.
